Victory over Urartu

On April 28, Ararat broke the unbeaten run of matches by beating Urartu 2:1.

Injured Robert Darbinyan and disqualified Juan Bravo couldn't help Ararat in this game. Ararat head coach Edgar Torosyan chose the 5-3-2 formation, which meant that the team had to patiently watch the opponent's ball play and look for their opportunities in counterattacks.

Numerical advantage did not change plans
In the 8th minute of the match, Urartu fullback Edgar Grigoryan was sent off for rough play against Rudik Mkrtchyan. Having received a numerical advantage, Ararat was in no hurry to make changes to the game, playing with the tactics that were originally planned.

6th goal by Edgar Malakyan
In the first half, there was a tense struggle on the field, there were few scoring chances. Only at the end of the half did Urartu forward Jonel Desire have a chance to open the score, but Ararat goalkeeper Vsevolod Yermakov played confidently.

The score in the game was opened in the 41st minute, when, having received a pass from Alik Arakelyan, Edgar Malakyan skillfully hit the opponent's goal. It was Malakyan's 6th goal this season.

They don't score you, you score

In the second half, Ararat's players had the opportunity to double the score, but Aliyu Isah and Edgar Malakyan failed to double the lead from a favorable position.

And in the 62nd minute of the match, the number of players from the teams equalized, as Ararat defender Hovhannes Nazaryan was sent off with a second yellow card. Shortly after that, a penalty kick was awarded to Ararat, which was converted by Artur Miranyan.

And in the 76th minute, the unwritten football law “they don’t score you, you score” worked in favor of Ararat. After a careless pass by Ararat's defender Marko Prljevic, Artur Miranyan went one-on-one against the goalkeeper, but Vsevolod Ermakov managed to save Ararat and start a scoring attack on the guests.

Gor Malakyan, Edgar Malakyan, Razmik Hakobyan, Davit Manoyan… this is how the combination of the winning goal came about. After an elegant heel pass from Razmik Hakobyan, Manoyan brought Ararat forward with a brilliant long-range shot. By the way, Razmik Hakobyan played his 100th official match in the Premier League that day, and Davit Manoyan played his 300th official match in the national teams and clubs of Armenia.

In the rest of the period, Ararat was able to defend well, ending the match with a victory. Thus, Ararat, having retained third place, continues to fight for a place in the top three.
